In 2004 one of Julie’s Conwy fishing boat paintings was selected from 10,000 entries for the ‘The NOT the Turner Prize’ at the Mall Galleries in London. The finalists were chosen by Ronnie Wood and Andrew Lloyd Webber.
Some of Julie’s earliest drawings and paintings were inspired by North Wales. During a week at the Menai Centre on a school art trip, Julie Colclough decided she wanted to be a full time artist. She soon achieved her ambition, and after 40 years of painting professionally, still loves sketching in North Wales.
You can view more of Julie’s North Wales paintings in our Chester gallery or contact us to reserve, order & enquire. Current stock includes Llandudno, Cemaes Bay, South Stack lighthouse and Betws-y-Coed.
