Handbridge, the Old Dee Bridge, Chester

Handbridge Chester

Handbridge

The sky over Handbridge and the Old Dee Bridge is different every day and provides endless inspiration for Julie. This view towards Handbridge will be recognised by anyone who has walked along the Groves or the Roman Walls along the River Dee.

This stunning original painting on canvas SOLD as soon as it arrived from our framers.

We also have a small run of 75 limited edition prints available from £95.

Visit the gallery or contact us to reserve, order or enquire.

The current bridge was built around 1387 but an earlier bridge here was mentioned in the Doomsday Book. It is made with local red sandstone and each of the seven arches has different dimensions. Just five minutes walk from the Julie Colclough Gallery, it is one of our favourite places to watch the local herons and cormorants.
