Northgate Walls, Chester

Regular walkers on Chester city walls will recognise this beautiful view alongside the canal, looking ahead to Northgate, Hanoi Social on the walls (great food!), Rufus Court and the Welsh hills.

The original painting SOLD immediately, before we had chance to hang it on the gallery walls. However we now have a small run (75) of limited edition Fine Art giclee prints, mounted/unframed from £85 or beautifully framed by our bespoke framers from £135.

Visit the gallery or contact us to reserve, order or enquire.

The walls are the oldest, longest and most complete Roman walls in Britain, parts of which are almost 2000 years old.

We are the only city in Britain that retains the full circuit of its ancient walls. Walking the walls gives wonderful views of the city, Chester cathedral, the River Dee, the racecourse and castle. The Walls are about two miles long and were first built by the Romans nearly 2000 years ago before being extended in the 10th century. During the 12th century, the Normans rebuilt and extended the Walls so for the first time since the Romans, they made a complete circuit around Chester. As city centre residents we use them daily for picturesque walks around our inspiring city.
