Portmeirion is a new painting by Julie Colclough inspired by her sketches drawn on location in the village and from the hotel. As a regular visitor to Italy and with North Wales on our doorstep, Portmeirion is naturally a magnet for Julie and her sketchbooks. Almost a little piece of Italy close to home.

Some of Julie’s earliest drawings and paintings were inspired by North Wales. During a week at the Menai Centre on a school art trip, Julie Colclough decided she wanted to be a full time artist. After graduating from four years at art school she achieved her ambition and became a successful illustrator working for clients worldwide. After 40 years of painting professionally, she still loves sketching in North Wales.
