Grand Canal, Venice. Julie has been visiting Italy for over 50 years and has spent many happy holidays painting the country from top to toe. Most of her childhood holidays were spent in and around Venice.
This painting of Ca’ Favretto is inspired by the over-lapping sketches and paintings from Julie’s concertina travel sketchbooks, the stunning original painting really needs to be seen to be appreciated.
Ca’ Favretto was the historic home where Giacomo Favretto lived, a 19th-century painter whose works are present in museums all over the world.
