Tokyo
Tokyo was just one of many awe-inspiring locations on our recent trip to Japan. As usual Julie has combined her location sketches to create a unique painting in her distinctive style.
We visited the Hokusai Museum to see the recreation of the artist’s studio alongside his beautiful woodblock prints, including many of Mount Fuji and of course ‘The Great Wave off Kanagawa’.
Sensō-ji is the oldest temple in Tokyo and one of many that we visited on our travels around Japan. On a Sunday afternoon it was a wonderful place to sketch, take in the atmosphere and to see hundreds of locals in traditional dress.
